2023 Show ‘N Tell

The 2023 Show ‘N Tell will be on Friday June 2, 2023, at 8:30AM.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Ehab Moussa.

Dr. Moussa obtained his Bachelor’s degree in dentistry from Alexandria University, Egypt. After, he joined his father in a specialty practice focusing on dental implant rehabilitation. In 2012 Dr. Moussa joined the periodontics fellowship program at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his MsD and certificated from CWRU immediately after and moved south to join the implant restoration fellowship program at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Moussa currently maintains a full-time position in private practice limited to periodontics and dental implant rehabilitation. Dr. Moussa has lectured nationally and internationally on topics that include; Hard and soft tissue augmentation around implants, partial extraction therapy, and full arch  therapy.

The lecture will review different preservation and augmentation techniques that are currently available. We will discuss the advantages, indications, and need for both of these treatment philosophies in clinical practice. The lecture will then conclude with clinical cases that demonstrate the day to day application of these treatment modalities.

  • Comprehend the advantages of tissue preservation techniques
  • Develop an understanding of partial extraction therapy and its advantages
  • Understand the basics of partial extraction therapy techniques
  • Understand the factors necessary for the success of any bone grafting procedure
  • How to diagnose and classify bone defects based on a proposed classification
  • Understand the determinants of mucogingival health and stability around implants
  • How to diagnose soft tissue deficiencies, when to intervene, and how to treat accordingly

The program is open to The LSU Periodontics Department faculty, residents, staff and donors and The LSU Department of Prosthodontics faculty, residents and staff.  5 hours of clinical CE will be awarded. The event will be may be attended in person but will also streamed live via Zoom. Participants desiring CE credits will be required to view the whole program and complete a very short questionnaire afterward. After the class, please allow three to four weeks to receive your certificate.
